No. On the platinum-plated versions of the Meisterstück range every visible metal part is platinum-plated, and that expressly includes the narrow ring at the rear end of the section as well as the metal threaded part. A 145 P whose cap fittings and clip are platinum-plated but which has gold-coloured parts on the section was never delivered in that combination. Fit the section of a regular gold-plated 145 into a 145 P by way of experiment and you get exactly this picture, with the difference in colour immediately apparent.
As a rule, then, someone has put together parts from different writing instruments. A piece assembled in this way must not be offered as new and unopened, even if the original box and the ident number are there: the packaging and the number say nothing about the integrity of the contents. Anyone needing certainty in dealing with a seller should have the instrument assessed by the manufacturer's customer service; a written statement from there carries more weight in a dispute than any collector's opinion.
