Reporters Without Borders auctioned between 19 and 29 October 2006 six high-quality fountain pens with handwritten dedications by prominent writers, actors and journalists on eBay in the section "Stars & Charity". Patronages were taken over, among others, by Julia Jentsch, Ulrich Wickert, Marietta Slomka, Henning Mankell, Harry Rowohlt and Reinhold Beckmann. The campaign was supported by Pelikan, Faber-Castell, Cleo, Waterman and Parker. The proceeds went to the worldwide engagement of the organisation for freedom of the press and opinion.
