At the Tilburg Pen Show in September 2004, predominantly older writing instruments were traded, newer models only in small numbers. Among the roughly 15 dealers there were numerous Montblanc fountain pens from the 1950s as well as examples of the model 139. At one stand coloured Montblanc pens and baby safety pens were to be seen, at another the Graf von Faber-Castell Pen of the Year 2004 in amber. The pieces on offer were without exception in good condition, and the prices were quite moderate.

More recent limited writing instruments were also parted with comparatively cheaply: a set consisting of the Peter the Great and the Catherine the Great cost 2,700 euros, and a 149 from the Edition 1924 was to be had for 900 euros. Besides writing instruments, magazines and books on the subject were also sold at the fair.
