The Königstinte is an exclusive, hand-made fountain pen ink which the Munich stationery house Schreibmayr offers under its own name. It is bottled in small ink pots; at the Munich pen fair in July 2004 every paying visitor received such a pot as a welcome gift.
In 2004 Schreibmayr was, alongside Prantl and Kaut-Bullinger, one of the Munich addresses that collectors headed for on account of their range of writing instruments. The promotional material for the pen fair was also displayed in these shops, and the staff were familiar with the collecting scene. For collectors, a visit to such specialist shops is interesting above all because writing instruments from numerous manufacturers which are otherwise known only from photographs can be inspected there in the original.
