The Meisterstück 12 was produced between 1960 and 1970, the matching ballpoint between 1961 and 1970. Both writing instruments are easy to maintain and were made in larger numbers, hence not particularly rare. Montblanc generally does not issue certificates of authenticity for such models, which is also unusual. The 12s and 14s of the 1960s usually have an 18-carat gold nib whose hallmark only becomes visible after disassembly; the 22s and 24s, on the other hand, had 14-carat gold nibs.
