The 22 and 24 were built roughly between 1960 and 1970; the 262 with a manifold nib dates from the middle of the 1950s. The cap ring helps with identification: the model number is stamped there, unless polishing or decades of wear have taken it away.
Both series belong to a time when Montblanc was still an ordinary pen manufacturer, offering, much as Pelikan did, the whole range from the plain everyday pen up to the Meisterstück. These models were accordingly made in large numbers and still turn up regularly on the second-hand market. No great collector value attaches to them. For a guide to what a 262 is worth, the best yardstick is the prices actually achieved for the closely related 252, which comes up for sale more often. The real value of such pens usually lies in their family history and not in their market price.
