For the large piston filler Meisterstück 149 the following guide prices can be documented from dealers' brochures and price lists: in the middle to late 1950s it cost around 90 DM, in the middle to late 1960s about 110 DM, in the early to middle 1970s around 150 DM, in the early 1980s about 320 DM, and towards the end of the 1980s around 420 DM. The price list for 2000 gives 811.67 DM, equivalent to 415 euros; in 2001 it was 425 euros, and in November 2003 the shop price stood at about 460 euros.
In nominal terms the price thus rose roughly tenfold between the 1950s and 2003, with the sharpest jump falling in the 1980s. Anyone looking for earlier prices has to rely on contemporary catalogues, advertising brochures and dealers' price lists, since the manufacturer publishes no continuous record of prices. For the early years of the brand, reprints of the 1930s catalogues, which likewise contain prices, are available from specialist dealers.
