The Scenium Artist Packaging was gift packaging introduced by Montblanc at the beginning of 2005: a writing set from the Scenium series in an elaborately designed box whose motifs were created by well-known artists. The themes revolved around love, friendship and gratitude; the set was expressly conceived as a gift item and not as a limited collectors' edition.

The first was a version by the Argentine cartoonist Guillermo Mordillo. A second variant followed in September 2005, the Scenium Artist Packaging “Jim Davis”: the creator of the cartoon character Garfield designed three different Garfield motifs exclusively for it.

The series remained a matter of dispute among collectors, since not everyone could see the connection between cartoon motifs and Montblanc; and as a rule it is the pen that is collected, not the packaging. In assessing such a set, then, what matters alongside the condition of the Scenium pen is above all whether the box with the artist's motif has survived complete and undamaged.
