The book 'Die merkwürdigen Füllhalter' by Piet Ruys, despite its title, does not let one expect a collector volume on curious writing instruments. In fact, it is a Dutch crime novel from 1961 with 124 pages on industrial espionage. Records and chemical formulas are violently torn from a young inventor and smuggled in a gutted fountain pen; childhood friends of the inventor can later solve the theft and return the formulas to the rightful owner. With this title is a crime novel whose fountain-pen reference is purely literary.
