The mini ink bottle was created in 1991 exclusively for the Japanese market. It was not available separately in the shops, but formed part of a special packaging for fountain pens of the Generation line.
The bottle is not suitable for the large Meisterstück pens, because the immersion depth is too shallow: the nib cannot be dipped far enough to fill the piston properly. In direct comparison with a regular Montblanc ink bottle, the difference in size is pronounced. Collectors should therefore regard the little bottle above all as a packaging accessory of the Generation line and not as a working ink bottle for large piston fillers.
