Correct would have been the signature of Alexandre Dumas the Father, who with works like The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo provided the basis for the edition. Actually, however, the signature of the less well-known son was engraved, which is regarded as an error. The differing statement in the current Montblanc brochure is wrong and to be attributed to deficient proofreading; further errors in MB publications are known.
