Is a plainly designed Parker Duofold with a sober cap end and narrow clip ring a counterfeit or a particular original model?

Other manufacturers other manufacturers FAQ entry

Such plain Duofold models are no counterfeits but correspond to the 1987-introduced Duofold of the first new generation. The restrained design with sober cap end, thin clip ring and uncontoured nib embossing is characteristic and often led to authenticity doubts. Parker corrected these weaknesses between about 1994/1995 with a model revision. Via the date code embossed on the pen, the exact year of production in this period can be determined.
