To mark the opening of the new flagship store on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, in 2002 Montblanc had six internationally recognised artists design shopping bags. Those involved were Sylvie Fleury with "Kustom Bag Kommando", Gary Hume with "Love Letters in your Pyjamas", Anne and Patrick Poirier with "Demain le Soleil rouge se levera aussi sur le Mont Blanc", Jean-Marc Bustamante with "Untitled", Sam Taylor-Wood with "Kyoto Girls" and David LaChapelle with "All American". An accompanying promotional brochure introduced the artists, and in addition a writing instrument edition appeared that could be bought only in this store.
The designs were realised, on the one hand, as oversized aluminium displays which, measuring 3 x 2.2 x 0.9 metres, were erected in front of the Paris store. On the other hand, the six motifs were available as bags in normal size, each motif limited to 4810 pieces. Individual examples also reached German boutiques, but are practically no longer to be had.
