At about the middle of the 1990s Montblanc issued a series of individually packaged greetings cards, which was distributed worldwide through the top retailers of the day. The cards show advertising motifs from the 1930s and 1940s and are executed to a very high standard. Originally there were ten motifs, four of which had been sold out for some time; a good six years before 2005 the series was withdrawn from the range, with a specialist retailer in Bremen taking over almost the entire remaining stock.

Later a new generation of cards followed, with more modern, restrained motifs which in only a few cases have any connection with Montblanc. These cards carry no full-surface cover image but a steel-engraved relief print, and are sold in packs of ten; in 2005 the price was 29.50 euros per pack. They are packaged in black card with a genuine red wax seal into which the Montblanc star is stamped.
