Montblanc did supply writing instruments to Tiffany & Co., as other makers did, and Tiffany then added its name or logo to the barrel or the clip. This marking was not commissioned by Montblanc and was done without its approval. The dispute that arose from it ended with Montblanc ceasing to supply Tiffany; there was accordingly never any official co-operation between the two houses.

Among collectors such pens are, like all Montblancs with a name engraved or an advertising imprint added after the event, of little appeal. Engravings are regarded as collectable at most where they can be shown to have been carried out by Montblanc itself. A Tiffany imprint therefore does not increase the value of a Meisterstück; if anything it reduces it — even though examples of the kind are regularly talked up at auction as a special rarity, and do have a certain charm as curiosities of their period.
