Here the Fountain Pen "Projekt David 1" is reviewed.
First, the "technical" specifications:
The fountain pen weighs 19.5 g, closed length approx. 100 mm, with cap posted 128 mm.
The fountain pen has an 18 kt white gold nib. This is a true rarity, as many nibs from other brands are ultimately just gold-plated yellow gold nibs. Nib widths from EF to M/B are available here. All nibs are hand-ground, polished, and engraved.
Since this is quite a small fountain pen, it is filled using cartridges. All black parts are made of high-strength anodized aluminium. The section is made of hard rubber, and the logo is hand-crafted from a square acrylic rod.
The cap and barrel are made of silver and are meticulously hand-polished. The (cast) clip is also made of silver and is hand-polished and bent.
The David is delivered with a cartridge and a soft lambskin case. The whole package comes in a tin box decorated with a sticker replicating an old Astoria tin packaging. The band carries the date of manufacture and serves as proof of warranty.
The David is a fountain pen that can also be carried in a trouser pocket. However, due to the small size of the clip, it can only really be used on a shirt pocket; otherwise it would simply bend.
Fazit:
A very charming piece — you always have a fountain pen at hand without feeling like you are carrying something bulky.
