The design of the fountain pen is inspired by the architectural elements of the Milan opera house. Above the clip the hand-engraved logo of the Milan Scala can be seen. The cap ring represents the boxes in the auditorium of the opera; they contain the various diamonds. The fountain pen holder is made of 750 white gold with inlays of black high-quality resin. The Montblanc star consists of mother-of-pearl.

on the 18kt gold nib, the image of Antonio Salieri can be seen.

Die Limitierung auf 78 Stück reminds of die grandiose Eröffnung the Milan Scala in the year 1778, which was built in a construction period of only 23 months and designed by architect Giuseppe Piermarini, quickly gained world fame through the premieres of "Aida" (Verdi), "Turandot" (Puccini), "Norma" (Bellini) usw.
