The "Rouge et Noir" and "Noir et Noir" series were officially available for purchase only from June to mid-September 2000.
It was intended to recall the origins of the Montblanc brand. The first Montblanc fountain pen also bore the name "Rouge et Noir". The Rouge et Noir has a faceted ruby set into the clip, while the Noir et Noir features an onyx. Quantity produced: approx. 5000 pieces.
As already mentioned, this series was discontinued by Montblanc shortly after its introduction and replaced by the "Boheme" line.
There are several explanations for this decision. On the one hand, it is assumed that there were legal problems with the name "Rouge et Noir". On the other hand, according to Montblanc circles, there were disagreements regarding the design and therefore production was discontinued shortly after its introduction.
