wartime production
(Clips are otherwise unusual with these writing instruments, remaining stocks of clips were used up during the war and also fitted to these writing instruments)

The 234 1/2 fountain pen has existed since 1936 (hence the classification in this category). With this writing instrument shown here this is clearly a writing instrument from the wartime period; the nib is made of steel and the rings on the cap are merely engraved.
A classification in the 1940s would therefore also be possible. However, the clip, which dates from the 1930s, speaks against it.
