Patron of the Arts 2001 - Marquise de Pompadour -
For the first time in 2001, a Montblanc writing instrument was brought to market

following years a number of further fountain pens made of porcelain
were brought to market (z.B. der Fountain Pen "Year of the Golden Dragon
888" and the writing instruments from the Annual Edition 2002 and 2003, further writing instruments are probably planned).
The Marquise de Pompadour was the mistress of King Louis
XV and a passionate patron of the arts. She supported
a great number of writers such as Voltaire and Mozart (both were already honoured
by Montblanc with special editions).
This writing instrument is limited to 4,810 pieces. The cap
consists, as already described above, of porcelain. The barrel is
gold-plated with white lines of lacquer. The nib is made of
18kt Gold.
Furthermore, an edition was also released in which the cap
and the barrel are made of porcelain (888 pieces).
