Montblanc Meisterstück
Patron of the Arts 1999

- Friedrich II -

The Friedrich II fountain pen from 1999 is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful writing instruments by Montblanc. The size is exactly right - finally a Limited Edition fountain pen that is not too large, but also not too small.

The Friedrich II is the first fountain pen that revives the principle of the safety fountain pen like the Rouge et Noir from the 1930s. The nib can be adjusted with a sophisticated mechanism and retracted within the barrel. (A similar principle is later used in the "Rouge-et-Noir" from 2000 and the later introduced "Boheme".)

The fountain pen has a beautiful 18ct gold nib with the initials Friedrich II. The barrel consists of polished gold-plated brass.

As is typical for Montblanc, there are two versions of this writing instrument:
- brass gold-plated      - 4810 Writing instrumente
- massives White gold   - 888 Fountain pen
