Montblanc Meisterstück 144

50'er Jahre

Montblanc Meisterstück 144 - produced from 1949-1960.
The export models are designated Masterpiece instead of Meisterstück.

The Meisterstücke from the 1950s and today's series are visually almost identical. The following features distinguish the Meisterstücke from the 1950s from today's models:

  • am twist knob ( see image left ) is the model designation,
  • dturn the twist knob out ( see image left ) the brass mechanism becomes visible,
  • possibly the nib width is also marked on the twist knob, e.g. OB,
  • the Meisterstücke from the 1950s feature a flexible 14 carat nib,
  • the writing instruments are heavier in weight and
  • model with the additional designation "G" possible

After World War II, when the gold reserves were exhausted, Montblanc also produced fountain pens of the Meisterstück series with a steel nib. To mark these, the Meisterstück models with a gold nib received the additional designation "G". This guaranteed that this model had a gold nib.

See picture twist knob 144 G.
