The Meisterstücke from the 1950s and today's series are visually almost identical. The following features distinguish the Meisterstücke from the 1950s from today's models:

• on the twist knob ( see image left ) is the model designation,
• dturn the twist knob out ( see image left ) the brass mechanism becomes visible,
• possibly the nib width is also marked on the twist knob, e.g. OB and
• the Meisterstücke from the 1950s feature a flexible 14 carat nib.
